Taking a Break From Sex

Caught your attention there, didn’t I? You might be asking yourself, what could I possibly have to gain from waiting? Why become celibate? Here are a few reasons.

Dating Platonically Helps You Get to Know Someone

Dating platonically is one way to learn about yourself and even to finally meet the right person. When your dating life isn’t about sex, it’s about getting to know your dates on a deeper emotional level. So you learn who is right for you faster than you would if you had slept with him. You also learn which guy is into you and which just wants sex.

No Teasing

Taking a break from sex means that you’re up front with the guys in your life from the beginning. Let him know you’re interested in a relationship, and the only way to do that is to truly get to know him. For you, that includes waiting for sex until the moment is right. Don’t hold sex over his head, however. Don’t make him think if he just acts a certain way you’ll sleep with him. Instead, use the time to get to know him and if you’re really in love.

Develop a Deeper Relationship

When you take sex out of the equation, dating becomes less pressured. You’ll be able to meet many different types of guys and learn more about yourself in the process. You’ll also be able to develop a deeper emotional connection, so that when the two of you finally do have sex, it will be with someone you truly love and who is perfect for you. In short, it will be worth the wait.
