Friends With Benefits Equals STD?
Anyone that reads this site knows I’m not keen on the friends with benefits situation. Quite frankly, I think it messes with your emotions and doesn’t help you at all in the dating world. I think it’s a bad idea, and anyone in a situation like that will probably have some trouble getting out of it when they do finally meet someone special. One friend or the other will either develop feelings or get hurt.
What’s worse, anytime you are spending time with someone that isn’t the right one, then you are putting off meeting someone great.
Recently, I read another article that seems to confirm my thoughts, this time in a much more graphic way. A CNN article says that:
“When people have sex with a friend, they tend to be more trusting that the person doesn’t have a sexually transmitted disease and therefore fail to use a condom.”
This behavior, in turn, leads to more sexually transmitted diseases.
Here’s the thing, daters, you’ve got to be smart and safe. Sure, there are going to be times when being single kind of sucks and you just want a hook up. But don’t do it. You deserve better than that.
