Q&A:Tell Others You Pulled Profile
There is a certain protocol when it comes to online dating. Knowing when to take yourself out of the online dating pool will help you start your new relationship well.
Question: When should I pull my online profile?
Answer:
I’m often asked by Internet daters what’s acceptable in terms of keeping an online profile up on a dating site once they’ve met someone.
A good rule of thumb is when you begin to date someone seriously or you wish to initiate physical contact, to take down your profile and concentrate on your new relationship. In other words, if you’ve been seeing someone casually but steadily and you now wish to see where the bond will lead, then pulling your profile is the correct next step. If you fail to pull your profile, and worse, if you are still corresponding with other daters, you are doing your new relationship a disservice. Look at it this way; you started Internet dating to possibly meet the right person. So give your brand new relationship your full attention.
If it turns out in the end that your partner wasn’t right for you, put your profile back up and begin to date again. Conversely, if your partner would like to date you exclusively but you’re still not sure, give it serious consideration before you actually pull your online profile. When I was Internet dating, I met someone early on who suggested we solely see each other. He was a great guy but I had just started on the system, and I just wasn’t sure he was right for me. I was honest with him and told him my reservations and about my decision to continue dating others. As it turned out, he and I parted ways. Since I kept my profile up I eventually met my husband. But if I’d have chosen to settle for someone that wasn’t quite right, I would have never met someone that was.

Hey Cherie,
Some great advice there, it can be a tough choice to make, especially if you are getting a lot of interedt online as well.
I think you just “know” when that person is right, and you will instinctively pull your profile down at that point in time.
Thanks for a great post my friend.
